Egypt
Black Desert has been
formed by the erosion of the mountains
We took a 2-day tour from
Bawiti and went to the top of this hill
The view from the top was
amazing
Looking to the North, we
could see the road that brought us there
Next stop - Crystal
Mountain. People look for crystals in the sand
Scenery was changing fast,
but taking an organized tour means little time to stop and contemplate
The road goes down to the
White Desert
Our driver. He didn't talk
much
Just after sunset we
arrived in the most amazing part of the White Desert, quite far from
the main road
This is the place where
all the tours stop and take photos
Strange shapes here are
the work of wind and sand
The area was littered with
black iron pyrites
Before going to sleep, we
sat around the fire for warmth
Our camp in the morning.
We slept under the stars, millions of them! It was quite cold, no more
than 5C
Simple breakfast,
including tea, bread and what the Egyptians call fuul
Early morning view with
long shadows
If I had a whole day here,
I wouldn't be bored at all
These chalky rock
formations remind me of waves in the sea of sand
Another photo from the
amazing White Desert
We stopped here for photos
on the way back
Our Toyota broke down a
few times and we had time to walk around

we waited for the bus
