Italy
First day in the
Dolomites. We go straight to Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Approaching Tre Cime, one
of the best-known mountain groups in the Alps
After watching the sunset,
we planned to stay in the alpine hut, but it was already closed for
winter
Because the weather was
great, we decided to bivouac in the open
Tunnel from World War I
This tunnel leads to the
beginning of ferrata Innerkofler
Via ferrata (Italian for
"iron road") is a protected climbing route in the Alps
The biggest danger on
popular ferratas are falling stones displaced by climbers above
Getting close to the top
of Monte Paterno 2,744m

Nice surprise - Polish

Cortina d'Ampezzo, known
for hosting the 1956 Winter Olympics
Forcella della Grava. We
came here to climb Monte Civetta
Monte Civetta 3,220m in
the evening
In the morning, we woke up
to this colorful Civetta
Nearby Monte Pelmo
Walking towards the
beginning of ferrata Alleghesi
Obstacles on the way
Ready for ferrata
Alleghesi, one of the longest in the Dolomites
The flowers' will to
survive
First steps of ferrata
leading to the top of Monte Civetta
900m of steep but
well-protected rock until the summit
Ferrata Alleghesi
Ferrata Alleghesi. I
didn't meet anyone when I was there
Looking north
Looking down the way I
came from
This ferrata is quite
demanding because of it's length
The summit of Monte
Civetta 3,220m
View from the summit
Clouds were coming and
going very quickly
I chose ferrata Tissi for
my way down
Ferrata Tissi was only
350m long, but all of it was very exciting
Forcella delle Sasse. I
was nearly hit by a stone avalanche when walking down to Forc.d. Grava
Safely back in Pecol,
where we left our car
