TREKKING IN CORDILLERA BLANCA AND CLIMBING PISCO 5752m (June 2007) text
Day one of Alpamayo Base Camp trek
Day 2. Camping near Laguna Cullicocha
Laguna Cullicocha
Day 3
Day 4
I left my tent in the valley and went up with just food and camera
Finally Alpamayo appeared, but not as close as I imagined
I arrived back in the campsite at night and people wanted to look for me thinking I was lost
Day 5. Long ascent to Cara Cara Pass, the most scenic of the whole trek
Arriero takes care of equipment for an organized group
Waiting for sunset on Pucajirca
At lower altitude appear eucalyptus trees, brought to South America from Australia
Kids didn't speak much Spanish
Walking her pet
My bus broke down on the way back to Huaraz
Lower parts of the Andes
Election slogans are painted on many houses
Climbing Pisco
5752m
Getting closer and closer to the summit
Finally I stand on top after 12 hours of walking
Huascaran, the highest mountain in Peru
Views from Pisco
Walking back from Pisco
Going up and down took 20 hours, and I missed the only bus to Huaraz
