Money changers in Dhaka
Imported (and very
expensive, even by european standards) fruit for sale
Old Dhaka. Rickshaws block
many streets, but nobody cares
There are 400,000
rickshaws in Dhaka and every one of them seems to be different
Most drivers hire
rickshaws from owners, as they are too poor to buy one
There are road rules, but
nobody respects them. So there is chaos
This junction is taken
over by street sellers, leaving little space for cars and buses
It looks like London
double-decker. Maybe it is?
Most buses are probably
older then me, but are cheap and there is simply no alternative
I was taking
photos of the bus, so this guy stopped it for me (and didn't ask for
money)
I'm sure it's illegal to
ride on the roof, but who cares?
The amount of
advertisements is overwhelming
We went by bus from Dhaka to Chittagong
Infamous ship-breaking
yards near Chittagong. Ships are cut piece by piece until they
disappear
After a lot of bad
publicity, foreigners are not allowed to get inside the yards. We tried
hard, but no luck
Not everybody knows, but
Bangladesh is the 10th largest tea producer in the world
I have to mention that
people in Bangladesh are incredibly nice and friendly

Arriving by train in
Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh (and one of the largest cities in the

Near Kamalapur station
This man wanted me to take

Red hair or beard is

Morning in Bahadur Shah
Park. There are hundreds of people exercising
Something you didn't know
- the longest natural beach in the world is in Bangladesh!
Street in Old Dhaka
Old Dhaka. It doesn't look
like 21st century and that's why we loved to travel in this country
On the banks of Buriganga
River in Dhaka
Crossing Buriganga in a
small raw-boat was a great experience
It was probably the most
polluted river I have ever seen (and smelled)
Passing boat on Buriganga

Pink Palace in Dhaka.
There is an interesting exposition inside
Lalbagh Fort and gardens,
dating from the 17th century
Lalbagh Fort is full of
smart-looking locals, who are keen to meet foreigners
Everybody wanted to take a
photo with us. So that's how it feels to be a celebrity...
