PATAGONIA 2007
FITZ ROY AND LOS GLACIARES NATIONAL PARK (Oct 2007)
photos
It's hardly an adventure to go by luxury boat to see a couple of
glaciers, but that's the only way to visit that part of the National
Park. The boats take tourists to some of the most spectacular
glaciers in Patagonia, including a 100m high wall of Spegazzini
Glacier. Onelli lake is full of little icebergs in all shapes
imaginable. On the way to the glaciers one can see a lot of
proper icebergs, their size makes ships look like little toys floating
in a paddle. The ones made of deep-blue ice are especially
beautiful, it's a pity the ships have to maintain a super-safe distance.
Back in El Calafate, I was eating my last steaks and wondering how many
more tourists can this town accommodate. The next day I took
a
bus
across the border to Chile.
